This Is About Your Future and What You Should Know About It.
Life is a scary thing, and as you progress in your collegiate career take into serious consideration where you will end up. This post is a heavy one, so I wanted to make it light by featuring a TEDx Talk.
It is your own prerogative what to do with your education, but remember more likely than not you will end up being watched by others around you or people who are like you. We are all a diverse group of people, and we must remember that all the paths in front of us have been set out before us by some brave soul willing to challenge the status quo. Representation is so important, and in these ever-growing community we live in, we must remember that children who are people of color, come from a divorced home, or any other dichotomy needs you, to be honest, and needs you to share your story so they too, know that the sky is the limit.
This specific TEDx Talk features Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a story teller, and writer. She is talking to us about the danger of a single story, and why it is so important, to be honest with yourself and to find your own story and to break past stereotypes.
"The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete."
